Overview:
BlackRock is seeking a lawyer in the U.S. to be part of the in-house legal team covering trading and derivatives issues for BlackRock funds and accounts. The global team covers equity and fixed income, commodities and digital assets trading, prime brokerage, repo, securities lending, clearing, futures, listed options and OTC derivatives. The team also covers CLOs and Tender Option Bond programs, as well as the BlackRock registered broker-dealers.
We are seeking a lawyer with the breadth of knowledge and experience to serve as a lawyer on the team covering various asset classes. Candidates should have a basic understanding of the ’33 Act, ’34 Act, ’40 Act, CEA, bankruptcy/insolvency regimes, and the UCC as applied to the investment and trading activity covered by the team. Ability to independently negotiate industry standard trading documentation such as the MRA, MSLA, MSFTA, ISDA and other agreements as well as the basic knowledge and skill to understand and analyze the underlying regulatory issues are required. Structured finance experience while not required is a plus.
The role will also require the candidate to follow applicable regulatory developments affecting investment and trading and assist with the implementation of new rules and regulations from time to time.
Candidates should be able to work effectively within a team environment, but also be self-directed and able to work autonomously.
