Product Counsel - Genesys Cloud

The Product Counsel - Genesys Cloud is primarily responsible for identifying product risks and formulating management strategy from all phases of the product life cycle from conception, development, launch, distribution, and end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a full understanding of the product & services offered in the Genesys Cloud division.
  • Identify product risks and formulate a management strategy.
  • Attend Product Management meetings, roadmap planning, project management meetings and external trade shows as needed.
  • Assist in other substantive duties and special projects as requested by the Associate General Counsel and Chief IP and Product Officer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school required.
  • Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Background in computer software or telecommunications strongly preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of regulatory issues, marketing laws, privacy and cybersecurity, conducting freedom to operate analysis and/or intellectual property desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in product counseling.

  • Communicates regularly with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.
  • Seeks out patent opportunities from company employees.
  • Ability to function as an integral part of the legal team, development groups, company divisions, and individually.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of personalities and cultures.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
